Using SAS 9.4 on Windows

I have code that uses CATX to concatenate two variables with a comma in between:

stdy_sub = catx(', ', study, substance);

I would like the separator to be a paragraph break with some spaces after the break so that the result is something like:

studyname
    substancename

You could try using the hex value for the Line Feed character (Unix) or Carriage Return + Line Feed (Windows).

Below is an example of Unix:

data _null_;
   file tempfile;
   study     = 'studyname';
   substance = 'substancename';
   stdy_sub  = catx(cat('0A'x,'  '), study, substance);
   put stdy_sub;
run;

For Windows you should be able to use something like:

   stdy_sub  = catx(cat('0D'x,'0A'x,'  '), study, substance);

Kind regards,

Amir.
