How do we know if implicit pass through haapened or not .. or if using LIBNAME enging then how do we know if processing haapened at DBMS side or SAS Side. Would there is only oprion is DEBUG = DEDUG_SELECT or there is any other way also.
Have you checked the MSGLEVEL option in the log?
Hi Reeza, I don't see anything when turn on msglevel option. when use DEBUG=DBMS_SELECT , I can see following message but only when use distinct in sql query.
DEBUG: SQL Implicit Passthru stmt used for fetching data.
ACCESS ENGINE: SQL statement was passed to the DBMS for fetching data.
if same query runs without distinct , I don't see any message like this. so I am just trying to understand if implict pass through could even happen but message is not displayed. Is there any other way to know if implicit pass through happened or not apart from DEBUG=DBMS_SELECT options.
options sastrace=',,,d' sastraceloc=saslog ;
Once you see the native sql translating into RDBMS sql in LOG.
then the SQL should be executed at DB side.
