If a variable value has more than 500 characters and I have to split into 3 variables

If a variable label has more than 500 characters and I have to split into 3 variables each maximum of 200 characters. What will be the code?

Where do you intend to use this piece of literature? I have a hard time imagining a PROC PRINT with a 500 character header.

You don't have to split it. What do you intend to do with it? Please explain. If we knew what you were going to do, we might have better suggestions.
