How can I flag all members of a household if one (but not all) members of that household has a certain characteristic?

For example, I want to give every unique entry a flag to identify whether the household has at least one member over the age of 40 in this set:

Household, Age

1 10

1 15

1 45

2 30

2 30

3 55

4 25

4 18

So everyone in household 1 and 3 would have a fortyplus = 1, while all others would have fortyplus=2.

Edit: alternativey, how could I just give everyone in the household a MAXHHLDAGE = [age of oldest member].
