I've noticed that I have SAS Enterprise Guide 6.1 installed while I have SAS 9.4 on my PC. As 8.1 is the EG's recent version, how can I get the most recent version installed? I tried to find a way to do so, but failed. Thanks in advance!
Get in touch with your SAS account manager to get a current SAS depot. Sadly, there's no other way to get the EG installer, see the discussion in https://communities.sas.com/t5/SAS-Enterprise-Guide/Introducing-SAS-Enterprise-Guide-8-1/td-p/569293...
You may also want to use your current install to create and save the SAS code behind all of your current projects that you will want to use later. Some folks have found that the projects don't always transfer seamlessly with the upgrades. I might expect more issues with a "multi generation" upgrade.
