Hello Guys,

I am getting below error while reading XML file though XML mapper. This error comes due to special character or illegal character like mentioned in the below email address. .

ERROR: Character is unclassifiable.

Data -

<Metadata ID="Email">
<Value>sanjaysalunkhe76@gmail.com</Value>
</Metadata>

Code I am using -

FILENAME map "&xmlmap." ENCODING = "UTF-8" ;
LIBNAME &fileref. XMLV2 XMLMAP=map ;

So please suggest how i can solve this.

Thanks!

Best Regards,

Sanjay S.

The brute force method would be to pre-process the file and remove non-printable characters. Maybe:

STR=prxchange('s/[[:^print:]]//',-1,STR);
