Hello,

I have a scenario :

I have main folder like this-

Main folder  Name

x1

X2

X3

X4

Inside each main folder I have two sub folders : WAREHOUSE_DATA  and AUTO-ARCHIVE.

In the folder WAREHOUSE_DATA  I have my sas datasets. I need to take a back up of those data sets. To do that I have to move them into anothe folder AUTO-ARCHIVE. After moving datasets to AUTO-ARCHIVE folder there should not be any data sets in the folder WAREHOUSE_DATA. I have to perform this task in all the main folders X1,X2,X3.....X50.

Is there any automated macro code for this.

Look into PROC DATASETS.

Note that you can assign a library to multiple folders (your source folders).

A question arises though to clarify are any of the files you are talking about moving are other than SAS datasets or catalogs?

Why do you want to solve this task with SAS? Using os-commands seems to be easier in this case.
