How do we check the programming code with out running the program?

(I meant to say with executing the program (run) I want to find out the any syntax or logical errors?

because of the performance issue- the code with may contain large amount of data to read)...

Please help me out...

Thanks in advance......

You can use the OBS= system options to restrict the number of observations processed in any step, but be aware that this can make joins/merges meaningless (as no matches are found).
