Hello team,

I am new! I need to learn SAS to find a job.

I am looking for SAS documentation to learn the syntaxes.

How can I go to SAS documentations?

Regards,

GN

I like to use

http://documentation.sas.com/?cdcId=pgmmvacdc&cdcVersion=9.4&docsetId=allprodsproc&docsetTarget=proc...

when searching for procedures. I also can click on the search icon there and search for functions or other commands rather than procedures.

You can also go to your favorite external search engine (such as the one which rhymes with "Schmoogle") and enter the command/function/PROC name followed by site:documentation.sas.com; for example, enter this in the search engine to find the syntax for the RETAIN statement

retain site:documentation.sas.com

Strangely enough, using "Schmoogle" requires more typing, but finds the results faster than the first link I gave.

All of the above also applies to DuckDuckGo

Seriously?

He means Google...you'll find what you want via "search term + SAS documentation"

You also want to make sure you're getting the correct version though, bookmark the relevant ones for yourself. But learning how to find the documentation is a key step in learning anything with programming.

Reeza,

fine, I agreed,

There should be somewhere that users go and find the syntaxes. One of the
community members gave a good clue as how to search google.

I have done e learning course containing 11 sessions, I am reviewing them
because I forgot and I need to talk about them in interviews.

Like we go to MSDN; from dropdown menu, we select the topic that we need. When
we go to SAS, there are tons of links, which one should we go? I need to
find out about the syntaxes in data steps and proc steps.

For SAS Procedures: (search terms were "SAS documentation procedures")

http://documentation.sas.com/?docsetId=allprodsproc&docsetTarget=procedures.htm&docsetVersion=9.4&lo...

Data Step Concepts is probably what you're after here, about half way down the page: search terms were: "sas 9.4 data step concepts"

This is more of a tutorial/explainer than documentation

http://documentation.sas.com/?docsetId=lrcon&docsetTarget=titlepage.htm&docsetVersion=9.4&locale=en

Data Step documentation: search terms were "SAS 9.4 data step documentation"

http://documentation.sas.com/?docsetId=lestmtsref&docsetTarget=titlepage.htm&docsetVersion=9.4&local...

Thanks, these all links got me what I wanted. I tried hard to get the path
for each link from the main page, I couldn't find the path. When I enter
the key words for search, it brings me to these pages though, but I can't
find the path for each page from the home page.

We have no idea what page you’re referring to or what you’re having issues with at this point.

I am referring to this link:

http://documentation.sas.com/?cdcId=pgmmvacdc&cdcVersion=9.4&docsetId=allprodsproc&docsetTarget=proc...

Also, you have referred to little SAS Book in on of your posts, I want to
buy it. Can you please let me know who the author is?

I have covered SAS e-learning in SAS university Edition in SAS.com. I am
trying to find out all the notes in paper in one place that I can refer to
it right away at work real quick. Do you know what I am referring to?

GN0001
