How to convert date format with multiple date format in one column

Are you trying to convert strings to SAS dates with a IS8601DA format?

If so:

  A='2014-05-01      '; output;

  DATE=input(A,anydtdte10.);
  format DATE date9.;
  put DATE=;

What is your original data source?

Should the values be stored as dates only, as datetimes, or as separate date and time?
