I have a problem where in I need to compare two sas datasets. But in the two datasets the variable are having different name though its the same data.
I do not want to change the variable name before comparing.
Is there a possiblity of comparing these two datasets supressing variable comparision and let it compare only observation.
for e.g
data a;
var1="aaa";
var2="ggg";
run;

data b;
var_1="aaa";
var_2="ggg";
run;

Please let me know how I can compare these two datasets. In both the datasets the variable var1= var_1 and var2=var_2. I want to show these two variables in the report so that user can refer to them properly.

Suggest looking at the COMPARE procedure and the WITH statement.
