I would like to compare two libraries. They have similar tables and I would like to compare the data types of fields in the tables? How do I go about doing this?

This may be close to what you are looking for.

 

proc datasets kill;
   copy in=sashelp out=work;
   select class classfit shoes cars;
   run;
   contents data=work._all_ noprint out=workvars;
   run;
   quit;
proc sort data=workvars;
   by name type;
   run;
proc transpose data=workvars out=wide;
   by name;
   var type;
   id memname;
   run;
proc print;
   run;
