How does the status of a question change to assume answered?

Noticed this in a few posts and curious as to how this is set..

When you post something and haven't declared any response "correct" the following message appears when you look at the post:

This question is Not Answered.(Mark as assumed answered)

Thanks, it still has to be set by the original poster then...that's what I was wondering.

 I am thinking if a "correct answer" is marked then the question will be "answered" but if there are only "helpful" answers, the question is "assumed answered". Is that the correct understanding?

A tool tip / note while the cursor is hovering will be helpful in explaining the difference.

Good morning all,

I was reading this post and was wondering where on the page the user (post originator) can change the post from 'Not Answered' to 'Answered'.

I can't seem to find this out.  Am I just missing where this is located on the page?

Thanks,

Nancy:smileyconfused:
