Since you create the dataset in WORK, you need to do housekeeping there.

Which SAS environment do you use? University Edition, On Demand for Academics, or a licensed BI Server setup?

I am using SAS University Edition. Could you please help in resolving this issue.

If this happens immediately after startup of UE with a small table, then your WORK is hopelessly clogged. Reinstall UE form a fresh download.

And make sure that you always log out from SAS Studio and shut down the virtual machine gracefully. Do not simply turn off your computer.

1. i have restarted my system , then started the session again - Problem persist
2. I installed everything again and set the new path in a new folder , now my left pane of folder is section is blank , so i tried to run a test program , but still its giving an error " No space left on disk". I have about 100+gb in spare in ssd and in task manager also everything seems ok.

Rebooting your system or restarting the existing virtual machine is not the answer.

One thing that can happen with SAS Univeristy Edition is that when the SAS application running in the virtual machine crashes in a bad way it can leave behind some files that eat up the limited space in the virtual machine.  There are no tools users can use to clear that space.

So you just need to go back to the setup steps for SAS University Edition and re-create the virtual machine.  You do not really need to re-download the image of SAS but you will need to know where it is on your system so you can re-import it as a new virtual machine.  You should not lose any of your SAS files or settings since you will just re-point the shared folder in the virtual to the same physical folder on your real machine so all of the existing files and settings will be found.

i didnot deleted anything , i installed the sas UE package again and created a new folder and renamed the previous one and set the path of new folder. After that i started the session and launched Sas UE editor on localhost:10080// .. i tried to run a program by calling a inbuilt sas data set but i am not able run that and the same error is coming " No disk space on device". What else can i do ??

The issue you originally reported is not related to the disk space on your real disk, so pointing to a new physical folder on your real machine shouldn't have any impact.

Another thing to check is if you have enough memory assigned to the virtual machine.  See this answer on an earlier thread. https://communities.sas.com/t5/SAS-Studio/NO-space-left-on-device/m-p/435986/highlight/true#M4605

But why would the amount of memory available to the virtual machine have changed recently.

I am not an expert on using the virtual machine software but I suspect that it is saving a new version of the SAS university edition after you install it into VM software so that it can save the state of the virtual machine in some way.  Otherwise this problem could never happen and it has been reported by others before you.  So make sure you are asking it to make the new VM using the version of the SAS ova file as originally downloaded from SAS and not whatever file it is that creates to make the VM that you use to start up SAS UE on yoru machine.
