Hi to all

is there a way to edit a index file (*.sas7bndx) ?

I'd like to see, for my education, the organization of this kind of auxiliary file...

best regards

Sébastien

No, unless you have some special sw.
But why? SAS indexes uses b-tree style indexes. What else do you need to know?
If you have some specific thoughts, you might get an answer via SAS tech support.

it was just for my education, just to understand what is inside the index auxiliary file..

As far as I understand, reading the documentation, values of the indexed variable are sorted and you're having a indication (certainly a page number and a line number (inside the page or an absolute number ?) pointing the observations.

thanks for your answer!

best regards

Sébastien
