x2=compress(tranlate(x1,'_',' '), '~!@#$%^&*()+|}{[]\<>?');


x1=your original column

x2=new output

note : you could change the list of special characters you want to remove.

Sometimes it is difficult to exhaust or even define special characters, that is where 'k' modifier coming in handy:

x2=compress(translate(x1,'_',' '),'_','kda');
