Determine length of values of a character variable dynamically

Hi There,

I have a character variable with values of different lengths:

CharVar

Region One

Region Two

Region Three

......

I need to dynamically determine the lengths of these values, i.e.:

length for the first obs is 10

length for the second obs is 10

length for the third obs is 12

etc.

Is there a way to do it?
