Hallo Community,
please I would like to understand this dataset particularly the steps from Format:
data test;
set E61_MD.MPLANT2 ( Keep = _BIC_YIT_SCHAN );
Format Test $2.;
test = _BIC_YIT_SCHAN;
put test= "--" _BIC_YIT_SCHAN=;
run;
Any description will be well appreciated.
Thanks a lot
🙂
data test; set E61_MD.MPLANT2 (keep=_BIC_YIT_SCHAN); format test $2.; <- This creates a variable called test, which is character length 2. test=_BIC_YIT_SCHAN; <- This sets test to be max first two characters of _bic_yit_schan put test= "--" _BIC_YIT_SCHAN=; <- This displays the test and _bic_yit_schan variables in the log run;
This is quite basic stuff, so maybe consult with some tutorials, or the SAS online videos to learn the basics.

Thank you RW9 😄
