I need to create a filter which checks a value for up to 400 different values then outputs to another dataset.

What are people doing to accomplish a task similar to this one?

Where are these 400 values stored? In a separate data set?

Yes-they are in a separate dataset.

And what do you want to do is the value matches one of the 400 values in the separate data set? And if it does not?

Please be more specific. Preferably, provide example data for us to work with.

the result of the successful catch with the filter would output that observation to another dataset.

this sounds like you may want a lookup table that you reference in your selection.
