DATETIMES FROM EXCEL INTO SAS

Hello Team,

I hav the dates in Excel spreadsheet as shown:   2/24/14 22:03 and i am importing the data into a SAS dataset. The date gets imported as a numeric SAS date MMDDYY10. (02/24/2014) ...When i try to convert this sas date into a datetime format it gives me wrong dates like shown(something from 1906's):   01JAN60:05:29:39.

Can anyone suggest me how to import correct datetimes from the spreadsheet.

Hi,
You are going in wrong way,
You first converted datetime to date format and then again you converted sas date values to sas datetime format, that's why you are getting wrong values;

Instead of that directly convert it to datetime.
