Hello,

 

I have a datetime format like shown below and have difficulty changing it to a date9. format.

Format is datetime22.3 and informat is also datetime22.3

 

ID     Tken_date

110   12DEC2015:00:00:00.000

111   13DEC2015:00:00:00.000

112   14DEC2015:00:00:00.000

113   15DEC2015:00:00:00.000

 

 

WANT

ID     Tken_date

110   12DEC2015

111   13DEC2015

112   14DEC2015

113   15DEC2015

If you are not actually using the time part I would suggest converting to a date and assigning the desired format:

 

data want;

    set have;

    Tken_date=datepart(Tken_date);

     format Tken_date date9.;

run;

OMG!, I was trying that and other PUT, INPUT combinations all this while but it throwed up some negative numbers.

It works now though ...thansk a ton...
