Hi,

Is it possible to create new variable during proc import process?

I don`t want to write a new data step for creating new variable. Is it possible?

Thanks,

Saravanan

Not that I'm aware of.  However, if you are importing a file that is handled by one of the engines, then you can accomplish both tasks by not using proc import but, rather, a libname and datastep.

Thank you Arthur. Much appreciated. I hope SAS comes up with functionality to create new variables during proc import.
