Hi,

I am having a little difficulty with the libref. I created a libref with:

libname sampLib "PATH";

Then I run:

libname _all_ list;

And samplib is listed.

But then when I run:

proc contents data = SAMPLIB._all_ nods;
run;

I see "Library samplib does not exist" error.

I am not sure if I can create that samplib library or how to fix this error I get. I'd appreciate any guidance!

Does the "PATH" specified in sampLib exist?

Is there a NOTE in the log that says "NOTE: Library sampLib does not exist." before the proc contents error?

"options dlcreatedir;" will create a folder that does not exist (only one level above the specified folder).

Have a look at the log! Always! There will be a note after the libname statement indicating success or failure of the statement. Without seeing the look with the actual error message, it is hardly possible to fix the issue. Just one point: if the sas session runs on a server, it is hardly possible to access local drives. If sas runs on linux, unix the path starts with slash, not a drive letter.
