Hello, I am using SAS 9.4

and I am trying to compare two columns of data and make a new column that helps me identify if any data in column A is not in column B, (identified as "Y" in the new column)

 

Set: Have

 

A            B                 

Bo         bo                    

Po          xy                     

Ro         ro                   

 

 

set: want

 

A            B                  match (A = B?)

Bo         Bo                   1

Po          xy                    N

Ro         ro                   Y

I Assume you are looking for cases where A contains any text character that is not in B.
Have a look at the COMPRESS() function,
Especially the second parameter.
