Copy/paste and cut/paste time lag

Does anyone else experience a varying time lag when cutting code and pasting onto program editor? It doesn't occur when cut/pasting from other sources, including results viewer, but the lag can be anywhere from 0 to 30 or 45 seconds, sometimes causing the app to temporarily go into 'not responding' mode. It occurred at my last job using SAS as well, but doesn't in any other app. Wondering if this is a thing, and if so if there's a way to fix it. Thanks.

I don't recall ever experiencing this symptom on a regular basis.

A few questions:

1. You mention "pasting onto program editor", in that case is the program editor also the source from which you cut?
2. Does this occur for any of your colleagues if they try it? If not, then try comparing settings preferences, etc.
3. Does it also happen for copy (not cut) & pasting - and maybe worth trying dragging and dropping, if convenient?
4. Does your CPU or other resources show high usage at the time for any particular process?
