Convert char YYYY-MM into sas date

What is the correct informant to convert sas char(structure YYYY-MM)  into sas date ?

DATA t;
char_var = '2022-10';
date=input(char_var,yymmd7.);
format date DDMMYY10.;
RUN;

The error is :

Use the COMPRESS function to get rid of the hyphen, after which the YYMMN6. informat will work.
