I have a study where patients and their families took surveys. While they are different surveys, there are 13 questions between the two that overlap. How do I test for differences by question between the patients and their families? Could i used a paired t-test? The patients and families are paired. If so, how do I interpret the results? I don't have any class statements since there are equal amounts of patients and their families....

Can you provide any sample examples so it will be more clear to understand this problem?
