Hi Community,

 

I am need your help understanding this within a proc sql step. Have never used coalesce function.

 

coalesce(t.amt_increase,r.loanamtchg) as amt_increase,

coalesce(t.pct_increase,r.loanamtchg/r.loanamount) as pct_increase

Would you normally use in place of joins? It is the first time I've come across this. I am not an expert in coding but want to be one.
