Hello.

From searching the community, I see this question was asked by someone else a few years ago. I am going to ask again in case the answer has changed over the last few years.

I am working with administrative claims data and need to create a charlson comorbidity index or some type of elixhauser composite score. Any suggestions on where I can find a macro that uses both ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes?

Are there any webinars on this?

I am coming from EHR background and would like to learn more about admin claims research in general. Are there any for-a-fee courses that would be applicable? or a consultant that I could pay for a few hours to ask questions and get recommendations?

Many thanks for your help.

Christine

-inpatient and outpatient  claims

-currently using Marketscan Commerical Claims and Encounter data

-will be using Medicare data in the near future

Hello,

I do not know that ' Charlson Comorbidity Index ' but on top of searching the SAS Communities , it is always worthwhile to also check the website :
https://www.lexjansen.com/

( it is a collection of all papers from the proceedings of all historical SAS conferences ).

So, go to https://www.lexjansen.com/

and search for ' Charlson Comorbidity Index '.

As an example, the first hit is this one (from the year 2013) :
Macro computing Charlson Comorbidity Index from CMS Claims Data

Koen
