I'm trying to open a SAS dataset using the SAS add-in and get the following message. Any ideas? I tried renaming one of the folders to _old (either 9.45 or 9.46), but that didn't work. The path in question per the error is C:\Program Files\SASHome\x86\SASProvidersforOLEDB.

I can refresh existing SAS-connected pivot tables in Excel, using OLEDB 9.45. So I'd like to keep using that, except I cannot open a new dataset into Excel.

Do you have SAS installed locally? If yes, 32-bit or 64-bit?
Is the installed excel version you are using 32-bit or 64bit?

How can I tell which bit my SAS is on? My Excel is 32-bit. I don't see a SAS item in my start > programs.

A fix I obtained was to unregister and reregister the DLL's, but that was just a temporary fix because the issue came up again!

The installation path, shown in the screenshots, points to "c:\program files", this directory is mostly used to install 64bit applications, while "c:\program files (x86)" is used for 32bit applications. The message also shows that two version of the oledb provider are installed. You should check this, too.

Do you use SAS Enterprise Guide or any other SAS interface or just the add-in for office?
