Hello

I'm trying to access Oracle via SAS. I had SAS console management installed but the on-line doc mentions that I should open the server wizard - I can't find server wizard in SAS console management.

Look for the Server Manager in SMC Explorer, right click on it then select New Server. This will open the wizard. If you don't see Server Manager then it is possible your user name is not set up with the required roles in SAS metadata.

here is what I see from server manager: refresh, connect, properties. (also see attached picture).

If my user name is not set up with the required roles, how can I change them? I'm working from an individual license. Should I modify the config file, if yes: how?

I don't see your attached picture. I think your user name doesn't have the admin role required to be able to see the New Server option. I'm not at work right now, but what you will need to do is configure your user name under User Manager in SMC by adding the appropriate User Role to allow server administration. Again you may be restricted from doing this as normally only SAS Administrators have this access. This might make things clearer:
