Dear SAS Experts,
Greetings!
I need to run a programme in batch mode and running the programme is taking say some minutes to hours. I want to ask if I can work in another programme for some other work in SAS when the first programme is running? Currently I am not trying this because of risk of some errors. But I have seen once that I can open another programme when first one is running in batch mode. My question is if I can run a programme in batch mode and work in another programme while first one is running in batch mode? I am able to see that I can do that but my question is if it is harmful and is it advised to do it?
Thanks in advance.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,

Of course that can be done!
Are you using SAS 9.4 or SAS Viya?
Where is SAS running? On a remote Linux server?
Koen
Are you using SAS on a PC or on a SAS server? Yes, you can most definitely run multiple SAS programs at the same time, both in batch mode and interactively in your SAS development interface as well as updating other SAS programs.
Thank you SASKiwi.
