Hello.
I am using Marketscan Commercial Claims data. It contains a SAS format to lookup diagnosis code descriptions. To the best of my knowledge, Marketscan does not have an equivalent format to lookup procedure code descriptions (eg: CPT). Does anyone know of a free or low-cost resource for CPT descriptions?
many thanks for your help.

If you have a relatively nice document that has a Code and a meaning it is often not hard to create a data set that SAS Proc Format can use to create a format. Or as a look-up using other tools.
So the question may become "where to do we find a complete list of these codes and descriptions"?
To add to what @ballardw wrote: It looks like you need to buy these descriptions from the AMA. Based on this Reddit discussion it appears there are also work-arounds to get to these codes.
