Hi, all/support,

A student of mine is using SAS.Windows 9.3. He obtained the following message in his log:

58   proc print data=work.test;

59   run;

ERROR:  BRIDGE FAILURE CALLING UNKNOWN.

ERROR:  UNABLE TO LOAD sasztx   FOR SUBSYSTEM 280.

ERROR: Module sasztx   not found in search paths.

NOTE: The SAS System stopped processing this step because of errors.

NOTE: PROCEDURE PRINT used (Total process time):

      real time           0.01 seconds

      cpu time            0.03 seconds

Would anyone have a clue what this BRIDGE error might mean, and what is the function of module sasztx? Any fixes here?

Thanks,

David in Cleveland

Thank you, Tim.

SAS tech support responded with the following

"The error means that SAS can't find the file sasztx.  This is a DLL file which should be located here:

C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.3\core\sasexe\sasztx.dll

If this file is missing then reinstall SAS or if you have a colleague who has SAS installed, copy the file from their machine."

The student did this and SAS worked properly for a short time. However, the student ended up doing a full re-installation of SAS after HD reformat and OS upgrade. The sasztx file may be vulnerable in aging laptops.

I hope this helps others.
