Hello, im suggesting that you implement some sort of overview of which variables that are used in a certain database for a SAS VA report.

For an example if you using a database with the paramaters a,b,c,d,e,f and are only using a,b,c, then a list that contains the used variables would be perfect (in this case only a,b,c). At the moment you have to go in on a report, click up the data and hover the mouse over each variable to see if it is used or not.

Hi @FilipAxelsson, thank you for entering this request. This is a great idea! We'll work on bringing this to a future version of Visual Analytics.

Hello @Stu_SAS, was this option developed? I am trying desperately to find news on that as I need to extract tens of variables from big report, but nothing except this request from 2 years ago.

Hi @flipdu You can use Viya Copilot in Visual Analytics (just released in 2026.02 in public preview) to get started with an overview of items being used in your report:

An option in the UI has not been implemented yet. I was wondering - what is the problem you are trying to solve by getting a holistic list of the data items being used in a report? Are you wanting to export this list for governance purposes? Another use case? Any more details would help us prioritize this feature request. Thanks!
