The Discovery Agent of the Information Catalog always calculates the Data Quality metric (Analysis mode = Basic metadata) for table assets. When you're working with a lot of data in a real business environment, it's not really practical to calculate these DQ metrics for each table because it'd take days. We've got 200 data marts with tables of several billion records.
You should be able to set up the discovery agent so you can choose between these options:
1) Just the technical metadata (Table Name, Column Name, Data Type, Number of Records, etc.)
2) Basic DQ-metrics,
3) Advanced DQ-metrics.
The technical metadata can then be used as a basis for searching, tagging and term assignment.
