Hi people,

Is there a best way to validate an email address?

I am using this regular expression  '/^[a-z0-9_\.\+-]+(\.[a-z0-9_\+-]+)*@[a-z0-9-]{2,}(\.[a-z0-9-]+)*\.([a-z]{2,8})/' with prxmatch, anybody knows an easiest way and more efficiently?

Thanks

Augusto Souza

As shown in this 2010 SAS-L post, you can't really validate unless you actually send emails.  The thread proposes a regular expression that is similar, but not exactly, like the one you are currently using: http://listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind1005b&L=sas-l&D=0&P=27781
