Hi guys,

when I try to transpose a dataset, all the character variables will be ignored.

how to tranpose character variables?

Thanks!

Mike

proc transpose data=sashelp.class out=cs;

by name;

run;

/*variable sex missed*/

SAS usually puts a lot of thought into these decisions, rather than making them arbitrarily.  If your list of variables to transpose includes a character variable, then all the transposed variables will have to be character.  If you want to do this, you can always specify:

var _all_;

Good luck.

Without a VAR statement only numeric variables are transposed.
