is there a way to create a shortcut so that when I open SAS it will default to a folder of my choice rather than the 9.2 subdirectory on my C drive?

Would setting the sasinitialfolder system option suffice?  Take a look at: http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/hostwin/63285/HTML/default/viewer.htm#win-sysop-sasiniti...

what other information do you want?  When  I click File > Open I want another folder to appear....not the 9.2 subdirectory
