Hi,
Our company is planning to purchase a Base SAS license. We need to access the Oracle database for our analysis.Does Base SAS license comes with SAS/ACCESS or do we need to license it separately.

Please let me know ASAP.

Thanks in advance.

SAS Access is a separately-licensed component.

Another consideration is which SAS/Access product to license.

If your organizational need is just for Oracle, then SAS/Access for Oracle is the best choice. If you need access to other DBMS products (M$'s SQL/Server, say), then SAS/Access for ODBC will also work.

SAS/Access to ODBC loses some performance optimization for Oracle, so you will need to consider the trade-offs.

(You didn't mention your Base SAS license OS. ODBC can be a pain to manage on Unix.).
