Hi Friends,

Good Morning !!!

In my program already predefined user formats are writtern.I need to find out the location of that formats to view that values.
Eg:
proc sql;
create table members as
select mlstnam label='Last Name',Mfstnam label='First Name' ,mmidnam label='Middle Name',langcd as Language_Code, put(langcd,$lang.) as Language_Descr
from hosp;
quit;

Is there any procedure to find out that user defined formats?

Thanks in Advance !!!!

Hello Sudcha,

Look at SASHELP.VFORMAT and SASHELP.VCFORMAT.

Hi,

You'll need more than the location if you want to find out the values in the format.

Try something like:

proc format lib=???? cntlout=work.andy;
select @lang ;
run;

fmtsearch lists your search path for formats.

Replace ???? with the library where your fomat catalog lives. This will create a dataset with all the values within the lang format you are after.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
