importing an excel with over 1,024 characters

I have an Excel file with a variable that has observations over 1,024 characters.

Currently I'm only able to proc import 1,024 characters.

How do I fix this?

I'm using SAS 9.2.

If you are using a libname statement include dbMax_text=32767 in the statement.
