When I export my dataset all cells that had a "." (given as a missing value) end up blank in my exported file. I have tried txt, csv, excel, and dat. They all have blanks for missing values rather than carrying over the period assigned. I know how to re-add the period in excel, but is there a way to export so the period stays?

before your "export statements", try the statement
option missing= '.' ;

Good Luck
