I have date and time in two columns in the following format respectively.

VS_DC VS_TM

01JUN2013             16:00

I have date and time in two columns in the other dataset in the following format respectively.

EG_DC                            EG_TM

01JUN2013                     23:00

I would like to know the difference between the two times shouldn’t be greater then 12. I have ID as the primary key for two datasets

Thanks

Rocky

1. Make a datetime variable out of each.

2. Merge datasets together

3. Subtract the two datetime variables.

Datetimes are stored as seconds since January 1, 1960.

12 hours would then be 60 sec*60 min = 3600 sec/hour*12 hours= 43200.

So if the difference is < 43200 then the time is less than 12 hours apart.
