Hi, I have 7 datasets that I must combine (simple data & set statement), but I want to create a new field called cohort that specifies a different value from each dataset.  So in dataset1 I want cohort to = '2007', and dataset2 to have cohort = '2008' .. and so on.. So in the end 1 large dataset comprised of these 7 sets and i new variableCohort with 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 .  Thanks

Hi,

Data want;

     set dataset1 (in=a) dataset2 (in=b)...;

     if a then cohort="2007";

     if b then cohort="2008";

...

run;
