clustering subgroups

Hi, is there a way to cluster within subgroups ?  I have variables (A1J , A1H, A1T, A1L) and (B1Y, B1R, B1S), and (G38, G2U, G5T, G8X).. is there a way to cluster witihn A1's and B1's and G3's, etc ??remember each one is a separate variable.  Thanks
