Could it be the missing semicolon at endcomp right before the DEFINITION.

I don't think so. I have 3 other similar reports and they all ran fine. Also this one ran fine last week and only this time it is giving an error.

When I get this kind of error, it is usually caused by an illegal character in the data. This is all the more likely if a program ran successfully before.
