A message like this indicates a bug -- some condition that the code (PROC MIXED in this case, I think) can't handle.  I recommend that you follow up with SAS Technical Support.  Supply your SAS version number and whether you have any hotfixes installed.  They'll be able to tell you whether this is a known problem with a fix available.
