Hi,
I am reading a column which is declared as char(60) from the source db2 table in SAS in os/z environment and creating a load file for another db2 table using SAS. In destination db2 table the same column is declared as VARCHAR(60). The db2 load utility fails and does not like this field in the load file. So my question is how to convert a character field to varchar field before i write to file.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

What is the exact error message you are getting and it would be best shared as part of a SAS-generated log with your code fully revealed.
