Does anyone know, how to find the value of OBS? I obviously know how to set it, but I'd like find out, what its current value is in the middle of a run. I'm particularly interested in errors, that create the OBS=0 situation.

You will need to explain more clearly what you consider "OBS" and where it is being referenced in some SAS code, please? Preferably share SAS code where you are expecting some result associated with "OBS". For example, SAS PROC PRINT generates a column with column label OBS, by default.

When an error causes OBS to be set to zero, it ia simply a way for SAS to continue checking syntax after stopping processing.
OBS=0 is not a symptom of the error, simply a tool to help you debug.
